Ever met an Angel?

Have you ever met an angel? Or someone you’d describe as an angel? I’d love to hear from you about your experiences, and what makes you think it was an angel. The Bible says “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” (Hebrews chapter 13 verse 2). It says many other things about angels, but it seems they show themselves when they want to (in which case they tend to say “Do not be afraid” because they are probably quite something to behold!) but they can also appear as humans, as the verse from Hebrews suggests.20160223_155427

Frank Peretti has written some really entertaining fiction. The books pictured above are stories about angels and demons in an unseen war that affects the lives of the main characters. The demons can affect people and influence them to do evil things, and the angels fight them, bolstered by the prayers of the Christians. I don’t believe it is possible or right to pray to angels, because “There is one God and one mediator  between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy chapter 2 verse 5) and they all serve him. But I do think that all angels fight in God’s army against evil forces in ways we can’t fully understand, and I do believe all angels are messengers who do his bidding. Have I ever met one? Not that I can tell – maybe because I wouldn’t know if I did, or maybe it’s not in God’s plans for me to meet one. Still, the thought of doing one is pretty awesome!

By the way, the above books are thoroughly entertaining and well worth a read. They are among the best ‘Christian fiction’ I’ve ever read, though I don’t think you need to be a Christian to appreciate them.
