I’m just getting into Star Trek. I’ve only seen The Next Generation and Voyager so far. Though I like them both, I prefer The Next Generation. It’s the opening words from that, said by Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, which got me thinking about churches having a mission too. I’ve had a go at rephrasing the words from Star Trek as though they were a mission statement for a church. See below:
This is the mission of (INSERT CHURCH NAME HERE): Our ongoing journey’s aim is to worship God, to meet new people and help them follow Jesus, and to boldly live as the Holy Spirit guides us.
What do you think? What would you change?
Also do you like Star Trek? If so, which do you think is the best series and why?
DS9 and the Original Series are the best series IMO- the two you haven’t seen! Enterprise is also good. Voyager is a bit weak TBH. Has Rach joined you in this ongoing mission to explore strange new worlds and seek out new life, and new civilisations?!

I didn’t know you liked Star Trek Graham! Yeah Rach is involved alright – it was her idea!
I didn’t like Voyager much at first but it’s really growing on me now (we’re on season 4) but I definitely prefer TNG so far. Maybe I’ll have to give the others a go. Sounds like they are worth it! 😉
