Fair Trade

Recently the church I am part of officially became a Fairtrade church. It’s an exciting yet easy commitment to make but helps to change people’s lives. It means that we use Fairtrade goods at meetings and services and also do a couple of other things, and in doing so it guarantees workers a fair, better deal. It’s a simple step that many are taking. It helps to transform lives.

It makes me think though: How am I as a Christian living like a transformed person? If I believe as I do that Jesus impacts every area of life, how are my thoughts, words and actions showing him to others? Some words from the Bible (Micah chapter 6 verse 8): He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Imagine how the world would look if everyone in it did just these three things.

What would it look like?
